A 67-year-old classroom teacher and wife of a prominent Liberian church leader is facing multiple charges after a heated incident at the 12th Street intersection in Sinkor. According to the Liberia National Police (LNP), Mrs. Klady A. Paul, wife of Bishop Hilary Paul of the Monrovia Open Bible Church, allegedly verbally abused and physically assaulted Patrolman Koilous N. Larmin while he was directing traffic on Tuesday morning.
Police say the altercation, which was captured on video, left the officer with visible facial injuries, damaged a government-issued police communication radio, and sparked a public disturbance that disrupted police operations.
LNP spokesperson Cecelia Clark told reporters that Mrs. Paul’s actions went beyond a simple argument, describing them as a direct assault on law enforcement in the line of duty. The police have charged her with simple assault, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief. She is expected to be sent to court for prosecution.
The LNP commended Patrolman Larmin for his professionalism and restraint throughout the incident, stressing that the force maintains a zero-tolerance policy for attacks on officers. In its statement, the police called on the public to respect law enforcement officers while they perform their duties, warning that any aggression toward them will face the full weight of the law.
