The calm of a typical Monday morning was shattered in Cestos City when news broke of the sudden death of a private security guard on duty. The body of 40-year-old Darius D. Dugbe was discovered early this morning at his post within the premises of the Cestos City Corporation (CCC), sending shockwaves across the Rivercess community.
According to CCC management, Dugbe reported for duty as usual on Sunday evening. However, by 7:50 a.m. on Monday, staff arriving for work found his lifeless body lying near the entrance to the corporation’s bathroom. He was still in possession of the office keys, an indication that he had remained on duty through the night.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of death. It remains unclear whether foul play was involved, but the case has drawn concern from residents and local authorities alike.
The late Dugbe was well known in the area. Originally a resident of the Open Bible Mission Community in Cestos, he had recently moved to nearby Gbah Town. In addition to his role as a night security guard, he also worked as a commercial motorcyclist to support himself.
His sudden death has left co-workers and community members reeling with grief and questions. One colleague described him as “a quiet and committed worker who never caused trouble.”
Local police have launched an investigation into the incident and have called for calm as they work to uncover what led to Dugbe’s untimely passing.
