Contrary to Initial Reports surrounding the death of 17-Yr-Old Musu Taplah being reportedly raped to death by her computer instructor, new details have emerged to dispel such news as her family has revealed that she was in a secret relationship with her computer instructor, Stephen Johnson, contrary to initial reports that she was raped and murdered.
New evidence, including private chats between Musu and Stephen, shows that the two might have been dating for nearly a year. During this time, Musu allegedly became pregnant, and from indications based on their conversation, the couple reportedly decided to terminate the pregnancy. However, after the abortion, she began experiencing severe stomach complications.
Abortion and Medical Complications
According to the family, the chat logs reveal that Musu repeatedly complained to Stephen about her worsening health, but he only responded once, asking if she “did the thing good.” She replied, “yes,” but afterward, Stephen allegedly stopped all communication with her.

Days later, Musu’s condition deteriorated, and she was rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed that her navel had rotted, indicating severe internal complications. She later died from her injuries.
Stephen Johnson Flees After Confrontation
After Musu’s death, her mother reached out to Stephen and they had a calm and understandable conversation so she decided to reach out to him and the administration of Nathan E. Gibson, where Stephen worked. But upon her arrival and as discussions began, Stephen allegedly fled and has been on the run since. The school subsequently stated that Stephen was not an employee at their institution but was rather a contractor.
The family has since being asked to provide the police with Musu’s death certificate and the chat logs as evidence to aid in the investigation. Authorities are now working to locate Stephen for questioning.
Public Outcry and Calls for Justice
The case has sparked outrage, with many demanding justice for Musu. Women’s rights groups have also raised concerns about the dangers of unsafe abortions and the need for better medical and legal protections for women in such situations.
Police have urged anyone with information on Stephen Johnson’s whereabouts to come forward as investigations continue.
