Representative Gizzie K. Kollie of Lofa County District #4 has officially lodged a formal complaint before the plenary of the Honorable House of Representatives, accusing Montserrado County District #10 lawmaker, Rep. Yekeh Y. Kolubah, of vandalism within the precincts of the Capitol.
The complaint, submitted to plenary on Tuesday, stems from an incident that reportedly occurred on April 24, 2025, just hours after the Supreme Court handed down its final ruling on the leadership crisis that had engulfed the House of Representatives.
According to Rep. Kollie, his Montserrado County colleague forcibly entered the conference room of the House and “deliberately dismantled” wall portraits, including those bearing the image of the then-disputed Speaker, Richard N. Koon.
“When confronted by the media regarding his destructive behavior,” Kollie wrote in his complaint, “Hon. Yekeh Y. Kolubah was callously dismissive and continued his destructive spree while spewing profane language in the full glare of the Liberian public.”

Rep. Kollie further argued that Rep. Kolubah’s actions constituted a direct violation of the House’s established ethical standards, specifically citing Rule 42 under the Code of Conduct for Members of the House.
Rule 42.1: Every member shall, at all times and in all places, uphold the prestige and dignity of the House and refrain from acts that undermine its integrity.
Rule 42.2: No member shall insult, abuse, or harass individuals within the precincts of the House, nor shall they engage in conduct that disrupts its lawful activities.
The Lofa County lawmaker emphasized that such behavior is not only disgraceful but also detrimental to the image of the Legislature, which should be seen as a sanctuary of law, order, and civility.
In response to the complaint, the plenary of the House of Representatives has mandated its Committee on Rules, Order and Administration to launch a full-scale investigation into the matter. The committee has been given a two-week deadline to probe the allegations and report back with its findings and recommendations.
As of press time, Rep. Kolubah has not issued a formal response to the complaint.
The alleged incident adds another layer of controversy to Rep. Kolubah’s turbulent legislative record, marked by frequent clashes with colleagues and strong public statements. The outcome of the pending investigation could have significant implications for decorum enforcement and internal discipline within Liberia’s first branch of government.
