The immediate family of the late Cletus Noah has formally notified the Liberia National Police (LNP) of their decision to proceed with burial arrangements without conducting an autopsy, citing the absence of any evidence suggesting foul play in his death.
In a letter dated May 20, 2025, and addressed to Deputy Inspector General of Police for Crime Services, Mr. Simeon Frank, the family explained that after extensive consultations and careful reflection, they have resolved to lay their beloved husband and son to rest without pursuing further investigations.
“We have concluded that there is no compelling reason to warrant an autopsy or additional inquiries,” the letter stated. “We are at peace with the medical findings and prefer to honor his memory in a manner that upholds the dignity and serenity he deserved in life.”
The letter was jointly signed by Mr. Noah’s widow, Mrs. Linda K. Sumo-Noah; his sister, Mrs. Mary N. Weah; and his cousin, Mr. Augustine K. Maimie. Their communication was formally acknowledged by Chief Superintendent of Police Samuel G. Zeo.

The decision brings an end to any speculation surrounding the circumstances of Mr. Noah’s death, as the family expressed satisfaction with the medical reports provided by the attending hospital.
While the police have not publicly commented on the specifics of the case, the LNP’s acknowledgment of the family’s letter signals institutional respect for their wishes and a halt to any pending forensic procedures related to the matter.
Mr. Cletus Noah’s burial is expected to proceed in the coming days, as the family shifts its focus toward mourning and celebration of his life.
