The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has announced a significant breakthrough in the fight against illegal drugs in Sinoe County, following the arrest of a 33-year-old woman in Greenville early Sunday morning.
According to authorities, the suspect, Ms. Agnes Toe, a resident of the Seabah Community and member of the Kru tribe, was apprehended after a dawn operation conducted at approximately 6:45 AM on May 11, 2025. The raid, led by Special Agent Daniel Songor, Chief of Operations for the LDEA Sinoe County Detachment, resulted in the seizure of 37 plates of high-grade marijuana.
The confiscated drugs have an estimated street value of $3,700 USD, or roughly L$703,000 Liberian dollars. They are currently being held as evidence pending legal proceedings.

Ms. Toe was immediately taken into custody and transported to the LDEA Headquarters in Greenville, where she is undergoing investigation. Authorities have confirmed that she will soon be formally charged and forwarded to court for prosecution in line with Liberian law.
In a statement to the press, Special Agent Grade-3 Milton K. Howard, Commander of the LDEA in Sinoe, expressed the agency’s unwavering resolve in tackling drug-related offenses.
“We will leave no stone unturned in exercising our duties to ensure a drug-free Sinoe,” Commander Howard said.
The LDEA is urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior or suspected drug activity in their communities. The agency has reiterated that public cooperation is vital in sustaining efforts to dismantle narcotics networks and protect Liberian youth from the scourge of drugs.
Investigations into the source and intended distribution of the seized marijuana are ongoing.
