Margibi Woman Charged with Manslaughter After Fatal Altercation with Ex-Lover
Police in Margibi County are investigating a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a man following a heated altercation with his former girlfriend.
Naomi Dorbor, a 28-year-old resident of Stewart Farm community along the Weala-Kakata highway, has been formally charged with manslaughter after the death of her ex-boyfriend, George Yango, who was reportedly in his 50s.
The fatal incident occurred on the night of May 24, according to a preliminary police report. Authorities say Yango, who was allegedly married, visited Naomi’s home late that evening and attempted to initiate an intimate encounter.

What began as an uninvited visit escalated into a confrontation. Investigators say Yango allegedly began choking Naomi during the encounter. In an act of self-defense, Naomi reportedly struck him on the back of the head with a 2×6 wooden door frame. Yango died on the scene from the blow.
Police investigations have so far revealed that Naomi and Yango had been in a relationship for three years before separating about six months ago. The split reportedly occurred after Naomi discovered that Yango was married, a fact he allegedly denied throughout their relationship.
As the investigation continues, Naomi remains in police custody and is expected to appear in court later today.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether additional charges will be filed as forensic and witness testimonies are being reviewed.
The case has sparked public interest and debate around domestic violence, self-defense, and transparency in relationships.
