The Liberian community at home and abroad is mourning the shocking and heartbreaking death of beloved artist TK Will, whose life in the United States took a devastating turn before his untimely passing.
Reports reveal a distressing series of events leading to TK Will’s death, shedding light on the struggles he faced in what was supposed to be a hopeful new chapter of his life. The musician, known for his vibrant personality and talent, had relocated to the U.S. with his fiancée, a 47-Year-old African American from Ghana, with dreams of building a future together. However, his time abroad quickly turned into a nightmare.
According to his sister, TK Will endured mistreatment and assault from his fiancée’s older son but felt trapped, unable to speak out freely. With no support system in the U.S. and the responsibility of caring for family back in Liberia weighing on him, he bore his pain in silence, only occasionally hinting at his struggles online.
The situation reached a horrifying climax when, according to reports, TK Will finally got help from the Liberian community in America and was preparing to leave his home to stay with a Liberian sister. His wife got the information and because she didn’t want him to leave, she allegedly drugged him with an illegal substance, leaving him disoriented and nauseous. In distress, he sought help from the police, but upon their arrival, his fiancée reportedly lied, claiming he was a drug addict and requesting that he be removed from the home and taken to a rehabilitation center which TK didn’t want.
Despite his pleas, officers allegedly deemed him unstable, leading to a violent altercation during his arrest. The confrontation left TK Will with severe brain damage, confining him to a hospital for nine months before he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
In a cruel twist, TK Will’s fiancée has reportedly refused to cover burial expenses, suggesting instead that the hospital cremate/burn his remains, an unbearable thought for his grieving family and community back home.
Liberians across the diaspora are now rallying to bring TK Will’s body back to his homeland, where he can be laid to rest with the dignity and respect he deserves.
“Our brother should not be burned,” cries one advocate. “He was a son of Liberia, and he deserves to come home.”
TK Will’s tragic story is a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by immigrants in unfamiliar lands, the dangers of domestic strife, and the urgent need for justice and compassion.
Let’s bring our brother home.
