In a bold move to strengthen public safety and restore confidence, the Liberia National Police (LNP) and Joint Security Forces have rolled out intensive citywide patrols across Monrovia. The initiative brings together multiple security agencies, including immigration, fire services, and drug enforcement officers, to increase visibility, deter crime, and foster stronger community ties.

The operation, which began this week, marks the start of a sustained strategy to address security concerns in key neighborhoods. By deploying officers to high-traffic and high-risk areas, authorities aim to create a safer, more welcoming environment for both residents and visitors.

Deputy Inspector General for Operations, Hon. Nelson J. Freeman, stressed the importance of collaboration in the new initiative.

“This joint patrol reflects our unwavering commitment to working together for the safety of our communities,” Freeman said. “Seeing security officers on the ground reassures Liberians that their protection is our priority. We will remain engaged with the public, listening to their concerns and taking action where needed.”

The patrols are not just a temporary measure, they signal a long-term plan to maintain vigilance against crime while improving trust between law enforcement and civilians.

To ensure transparency, the LNP will provide regular updates on the operation through its official Facebook page. These updates will include safety tips, progress reports, and ways for residents to share information with authorities.

As the patrols continue, officials urge Monrovians to remain alert and cooperate with security personnel. The LNP reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining peace and upholding safety standards, promising relentless efforts to combat crime and protect the city.
