President Joseph Boakai isn’t playing when it comes to corruption. Dr. Adams Lincoln, the Deputy Director General for Administration at the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), has been suspended indefinitely without pay after being linked to a shocking case of stolen government vehicles.
Lincoln’s suspension follows an investigation that found he was allegedly behind the illegal removal and sale of eleven vehicles that belonged to NPHIL. Not only that, but he is also accused of creating fake General Services Agency (GSA) documents to claim one of the vehicles for himself. With such serious accusations hanging over his head, President Boakai wasted no time in taking action.
As Lincoln steps aside, all government property in his possession must now be handed over to Mohammed Kiadli, who will take over as Acting Deputy Director General for Administration. This move is part of the president’s push to ensure accountability in public offices.

But Lincoln isn’t the only one caught up in this scandal. Just last month, NPHIL’s Director General, Dr. Dougbeh Chris Nyan, fired two employees and suspended several others for their involvement in the same theft case. Among those dismissed were George Watson, Special Assistant to the Deputy Director for Administration, and Pewee Quaqua, Director of Logistics. Darlington Bah, the Deputy Director for Logistics, was suspended indefinitely, while three drivers—Alexander Jisay, Jerome Ponney, and Kennedy Gayflor—were suspended for three months without pay.
The Justice Ministry has now taken over the case, and those involved could soon face legal consequences. Meanwhile, Dr. Nyan has assured the public that he is committed to cleaning up NPHIL and protecting its integrity.
President Boakai’s message is clear—government officials and employees will no longer be allowed to misuse public resources for personal gain. The days of impunity are numbered.
