Public transportation in Liberia just got a little better! The National Transit Authority (NTA) has added three brand-new Tata buses to its fleet, aiming to ease the transportation struggles many commuters face daily.
These 63-seater buses were purchased through the Government of Liberia’s Public Sector Investment Plan (PSIP) under the 2024 National Budget. In simple terms, the government allocated funds specifically to improve public transport, and these new buses are part of that effort.
For many Liberians who rely on public transport, this move comes as a breath of fresh air. The NTA has long struggled with an aging fleet, frequent breakdowns, and overcrowding, making daily commutes a hassle. With the addition of these modern buses, passengers can expect better services, more space, and hopefully, fewer delays.

While three buses might not solve all of Liberia’s transportation challenges, they are a step in the right direction. The big question now is: will these new additions be maintained properly, or will they face the same fate as previous buses that quickly fell into disrepair?
For now, commuters can look forward to a slightly smoother ride as the NTA works to improve its services.
