President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. is not playing when it comes to accountability. Officials who failed to declare their assets within the mandated timeframe are now facing the consequences. With immediate effect, the President has suspended all non-compliant government officials, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to transparency and the rule of law.
This move is backed by Article 2, Section 10.2(h) of the amended Code of Conduct, and it follows a ten-day grace period granted on November 27, 2024, for officials to get their affairs in order. But despite the extended deadline, some still failed to comply. Now, based on the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC)’s report, they are suspended for one month without pay—or until they fulfill their legal obligation.
In addition to the suspension, all affected officials are required to immediately turn over government assets to compliant agency heads or their designated representatives. This sends a clear message: non-compliance with anti-corruption measures will not be tolerated.

President Boakai has made it clear that asset declaration is more than just a bureaucratic requirement—it’s a crucial step in restoring public trust and ensuring accountability in government. He emphasized that failing to declare assets undermines the nation’s efforts to fight corruption, and moving forward, his administration will strictly enforce legal and ethical standards without compromise.
With this bold action, Boakai is proving that integrity in public service is not negotiable. The question now is—who’s next if compliance continues to be ignored?
Here’s the Full List of the suspended officials with a vast majority of them being commissioners, district commissioners, superintendents etc under the Ministry of Internal Affairs .
