Voinjama District is grappling with rising violence as police investigate two separate stabbing incidents that have left the community in shock.
In Betijama Town, 24-year-old John Lombeh is in custody after allegedly stabbing his friend, Kollie, multiple times during a heated argument late last night. Kollie, also 24, is now in critical condition at Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital, fighting for his life. The incident has left residents horrified, with graphic images of the scene—too disturbing to share publicly—showing the victim lying in a pool of blood.
While Kollie undergoes treatment, Lombeh remains behind bars as the police continue their investigation into what led to such a violent altercation between two young men who reportedly knew each other well.

In another troubling case, 20-year-old Jenneh V. Smith has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her mother in the neck early this morning in the Market Ground Community. The incident reportedly happened while Jenneh was preparing fish with a knife. According to her tearful explanation, the stabbing was unintentional.
“I was fixing fish with the knife while my mother was beating me from my back. While trying to wake up, I don’t even know how the knife reached her neck. I just saw blood all around and people rushing to my Mom,” Jenneh recounted.
Her mother was rushed to Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital, where she is currently receiving medical attention. Meanwhile, Jenneh remains in police custody as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
These back-to-back stabbings have left Voinjama reeling, prompting concerns about rising violence in the district. As police work to uncover the full stories behind these tragedies, the community is left grappling with questions about what could have led to such extreme acts and how to prevent similar incidents in the future.
