FC Fassell CEO Cassell Kouh has expressed his discontent with the recent rules and regulations introduced by the Liberia Football Association (LFA). According to Kouh, these new policies, spearheaded by LFA President Mustapha Raji, who he claims is a Nigerian national, are not in the best interest of Liberian football and are designed to marginalize key stakeholders in the sport.
Kouh didn’t minced his words, accusing Raji and certain Executive Committee (EC) members of crafting “unfair and questionable” regulations that hinder the genuine development of football in Liberia. He emphasized that their actions are not aligned with the growth and progress of the sport in the country but rather seek to sideline individuals like himself who are passionate about transforming Liberian football.
“For many of us, football is not just a passion—it’s a virus,” Kouh remarked, highlighting the deep connection Liberians have with the sport. He further condemned the tactics being employed by the LFA leadership, accusing them of stalling progress and keeping Liberian football in a state of stagnation.
Kouh’s frustration was palpable, as he made it clear that resistance to these regulations would be swift and firm. “We will not back down—enough is enough!” he declared, adding that the time has come to ensure that the future of Liberian football remains in the hands of those genuinely committed to its growth.
Quoting the famous phrase from Gogola, a well-known football enthusiast, Kouh said, “the game is on.” With these words, Kouh signaled his readiness to challenge the status quo and push for a better future for football in Liberia.
Kouh concluded his statement with a rallying cry, declaring that football in Liberia must rise, and calling for the removal of outside influences that he believes are hampering its progress. “It’s time to send the Nigerian home,” he said emphatically, underscoring his dissatisfaction with the leadership of the LFA and their direction for the sport.
As tensions rise within the Liberian football community, many will be watching to see how this unfolds. Will the LFA respond to Kouh’s strong words? Only time will tell, but one thing is clear: FC Fassell’s CEO is prepared to fight for the future of football in Liberia.
