The Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has found itself at the center of intense public attention following a recent court ruling, suggesting that the party may face eviction from its headquarters. In response to the swirling rumors, CDC Secretary General, in a firm statement, assured partisans and concerned citizens alike that the party is not at risk of being displaced.
According to the Secretary General, numerous calls have poured in from within Liberia and across the diaspora, with partisans and sympathizers expressing concern over the potential eviction. He emphasized that such concerns are unfounded, labeling any suggestion of eviction as nothing more than a “imaginary” attempt by opposition leader Mr. Joseph Boakai to undermine the CDC.
“The CDC cannot and will not be imaginarily evicted by Mr. Boakai’s effortless attempt to erase the CDC,” the Secretary General declared, dismissing the eviction claims as part of a broader political maneuver by the Unity Party and its leader. The CDC remains in firm control of its headquarters, with no plans to relinquish any ground, symbolically or otherwise, over the next five years.
The Secretary General further alleged that Mr. Boakai has been “weaponizing the court” in an effort to destabilize the ruling party. However, he predicted that such tactics would backfire, potentially leading to Mr. Boakai’s political eviction instead.
With the CDC leadership remaining confident and steadfast, partisans were urged to remain calm, with assurances that the party is in “good standing.” The Secretary General’s strong response aims to dispel any doubts, emphasizing that the CDC’s position remains secure and that no amount of political pressure will alter the party’s standing at its headquarters.
