Admits a sad/disappointing ending in line with negotiations to book Bucky Raw for MLMA Awards this year, so many socialites have taken to the Internet to express their thoughts on the issue.

One of which was that of Varney A Teah alias Strong Gbana Pekin a strong Liberian socialite based in the US.

In his post via Facebook, Strong Gbana Pekin wrote:

Awhile ago, I came across this information about Bucky Raw manager requesting US$10,000.00 to perform at the 2021 MLMA.

I must say in all honesty, I have been looking forward to Liberian Artists or their managers valuing their crafts for once, and amazingly, Bucky\’s manager Dalor War has done just that.

While the amount might sound high, let\’s look at some realities here. The likes of Davido and other Nigerian and Ghanaian artists who they bring here and pay exorbitant were valued by businesses and the people in Nigeria first before the outside world saw their value. They are not doing anything so extra except they have the support of their people.

I wouldn\’t ignore the fact that Liberians support to entertainment cannot be compared to Nigeria, however, you people who are in the right places to add value to our entertainers should do it first, then the people will follow. I have had similar experiences with businesses in Liberia who wanted my services but wanted to pay chicken change.

Bucky Raw stands as the number one versatile rapper Liberia has ever produced. Despite his past, his talent is on par with any International African rapper out there.

This shouldn\’t end with Bucky. All you Liberian entertainers, bloggers, etc should start adding value to yourselves with these businesses. You people can start by meeting each other halfway. ***MLMA was very disrespectful to Bucky\’s Manager for the fact that he wasn\’t even willing to negotiate.

I support Bucky\’s Manager request fully and I pray all other Artists Managers follow suit with these awards and businesses. When their events start being empty with no real class entertainers to perform, they will learn…
