Liberians keep making headways internationally as they are scooping international awards on a weekly basis for the impact they’re making at home and on the African society.
Though Liberians have won international awards in the past, but the frequency at which it is coming now suggest that truly Liberian arts, culture, and humanitarian activities are being viewed and taken in high esteem by reputable African Award Institutions.
Of recent Karishma Pelham-Raad has been the highest recipient of international awards. And she has opened Africa’s eyes to the beauty of entertainment, and how impactful Liberians can be on the general society.
Yesternight was another winning night for Liberians as the Vice President of Liberia, Her Excellency, Chief, Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor, Karishma Pelham-Raad, Alex Devine, and Royda Urey, were on the list of awardees who took home prestigious awards.
Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor, member on international women’s leadership organization, member of the board, patron of Africa, Girls Leader Initiative. VP Taylor, is high-tier senior-level career and public service professional with more than 20 years of extensive professional experience working in high scale public and corporate sectors.

She has continued to demonstrate high-quality and groundbreaking skills in effective leadership, with expert competencies in governance, public sector management and performance: effective political campaign strategy implementation; effective and strategic decision-making; real-time legislative lobbying and networking, as well as cross-government, bilateral and multilateral negotiations.
She is an experienced diplomat with adept capabilities in conflict resolution, peace building and negotiation of state treaties and strategic interest. She is an excellent speaker with high-pitched proficiency in written and oral communications, as well as intercultural group dynamics. She is also a respected lawyer and gender expert.
Vice President Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor received an honorary doctorate degree from United Graduate College and Seminary International in Accra, Ghana at the end of the Africa Advancement Forum Global Summit.

Karishma Pelaham-Raad, is the CEO of HRH Charity Foundation and a politician. A multi award winning humanitarian and youth leader. She’s also a brand influencer, currently the brand ambassador of three different brands “Aqualife Mineral Water, SEGAL Liberia & NICOM LIB, an entrepreneur, child advocate, and a network engineer. An Ex-employee of MTN Liberia with 12 years of practical experience in the Telecommunications industry. She’s also involved into event planning & promotion in the Liberian entertainment industry.

Mrs. Pelham-Raad is one of the Top international Radio/TV Show producers in Liberia “The One Show” on KMTV Liberia. Her platform covers: International and National artist interviews, CEO’s, Entrepreneurs, humanitarian, Advocates, Ministers, Leaders etc.
She was awarded as the \”Inspirational Figure For The Girl Child\” at the Africa Advancement Summit in Ghana.
This award is giving for her outstanding leadership qualities & commitment to the advancement of Africa.
Sir Alex Favour Devine Jr, is an acclaimed Liberia’s first Global Goodwill Ambassador, USAID Liberia 2021 Youth Of The Year Recipient, an educator, media manager, program consultant, and visionary leader with over (13) years of experience in organizational leadership, voluntarism, and consultancy that have proven to be exceptional and yielding desire results.

A multifaceted strategist that is known for effective organization management, exceptional marketing and content development skills, and mentorship-driven. In 2013, he founded the youth for change Inc; a “for-propose” organization that harnesses the creativity of Liberian youths to make them power-holders and accountable for the Liberia we want. YOC support educational project with a focus on youth empowerment, mentorship and education.
He has been awarded as \”Youth Empowerment Personality of the year\” at the summit.

Royda “Philimena” Urey, a Liberian native, Detroit transplant recently made a big decision to return to Liberia after living in the United States as a “refugee” for 26 years. Her decision to to finally take the plunge cane when her Uncle Liberian businessman Benoni Urey began his bid for the Liberian presidency in 2017, where she served as the Lead coordinator of campaign events.

Philimena is on a mission to change the narrative on Liberia from a war/Ebola stricken country to a place with lots of opportunity, growth, and its pure natural beauty! She does this all through a popular vlog www.philimena.com that showcases the a variety of topics on Liberia and her travels to other African countries. This site and channel can boast to have over 800,000 views, 16,000 subscribers and growing in addition to philimena.com.

In 2018 along with her partner, founded the Vintage Group, a growth strategy firm where she serves as the Head of Creative Development. This group dels with many Liberians and international businesses on development, branding, investment, project management, and Marketing. Recently, during the COVID-19 pandemic Royda led a grassroots effort to feed vulnerable populations during the 2020 lockdown. In 2021 has used her platform to spread information regarding the COVID-19 Vaccine, in an effort to encourage the youths of Liberia to make an informed decision in regards to taking the vaccine. Royda “Philimena” Urey has pledge her life to enriching her homeland Liberia through various aspects, with the hope of building a better Liberia for future generations to come!
She won the award for creativity and enterprise at the Africa Advancement Forum 2021.
