NPA Suspends Buchanan Port Manager & Statistician without Pay; Launches Probe Into \”allegations of financial impropriety\” Whilst Seizing His Accounts.

Contrary to reports that the managing director of the Seaport of Buchanan was arrested and jailed, the Management of National Port Authority has come out to inform the general public that its Buchanan\’s Port Manager, Mr. Charles D. Gull and Amara Kamara, Chief statistician, Out- station ports, have been suspended with immediate effect without pay for \”alleged financial impropriety\”.

According the Public Relations Officer of NPA, Mr. Malcolm Scott, the two employees will remain suspended until the outcome of an ongoing investigation which they have been subjected to. Mr. Scott also said, the actions to have them suspended and investigated are in straight adherence to the NPA’s administrative axe against any of its staff who may be found punishable for acts consistent with the Port\’s policy.

And that Details/ findings concerning the ongoing probe and subsequent actions by the NPA Management will be released to the public.

This announcement by NPA totally disproves reports this morning by some anti-government activist and opposition that the two Buchanan Port directors had been arrested and jailed for allegedly stealing US$500k. And that Oretha Thelma Myers has taken over as acting Port Manager of Buchanan.
