President Weah Grants Day off to Government Employees who are Muslim to celebrate the end of their holy fast month.

The President of Liberia His Excellency Dr. Dr. George Manneh Weah has officially granted a day-off to all Muslim employees in the government inorder for them to adequately and awesomely end their fasting for this year Ramadan month.

The President made the statement via an Executive Mansion release as posted below:

“The President of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah, has issued the following Statement to mark the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan:

The Chairman and Officers of the National Muslim Council of Liberia;

All Muslims Residing in Liberia;

Fellow Liberians:

Asalamualaikum ya Muslim jamat.

Fasting in RAMADAN is one of the five pillars of Islam, obligatory upon all adult and healthy Muslims.

On April 13 this year (2021), our compatriots of the Islamic faith embarked on the annual observance of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

On that occasion, I congratulated the Muslim Community, and urged them to pray for the peace and development of Liberia. I also urged them to offer prayers and supplications to the Almighty Allah in order to end the massive and devastating consequences of the Coronavirus pandemic that\’s ravaging the world.

As our Islamic brothers and sisters climax the month of Ramadan, I congratulate and thank all of them for their moral and spiritual endurance, far-sightedness and prayers they offered for our beloved nation and people. I also wish to commend Muslims for remaining law-abiding and patriotic during these very difficult and trying times in our nation’s history.

I ask that they continue to pray for peace, and a reconciled Liberia that will bring about national development and social cohesion.

In order to enable them properly carry out their religious rites, I grant a special dispensation to employees of government who are Muslims to allow them stay at home on Thursday May 13, 2021 and celebrate the festive occasion with their friends and families

Lastly, I urge them to continue to pray for peace, security and development in the Motherland.
