The Liberian leader was on today seen brushing his farm land in Nimba County alongside few cabinet ministers.
The issue of ratifying and engaging obstacles faced by agricultural activities in Liberia has been cardinal to the growth and development of the state. Many Liberians have ran to the city to seek better livelihood forgetting that all they seek can be found right in the rural areas if they invest their sweat in hard labor to achieve and maintain a sustainable life.
Rice is the staple food in Liberia but how many counties in Liberia are producing rice for consumption. Economic experts has verified that once a nation is fed sufficiently the people tend to enjoy stable peace and security. As the famous saying goes “A hungry man is an angry man”. So give the people more food and they’ll live happily. Because it’s only when they’re full, that they’ll have strength to go out and look for jobs, to sustain themselves and their families.
But the question is who else willing to go back to the soil to grow food? The president of Liberia Dr. Dr. George Manneh Weah stood up amongst many other politicians and statesmen to take a very bold but keen step in setting an example for Liberians to follow. He visited his farm land today in Nimba County along with some of his cabinet ministers and they began clearing the land for crops production.

This is definitely laudable. Seeing a siting president picking up his cutlass, going into the bush and brushing the land for cultivation. This alone should signal a lot to us as Liberians. It’s not everyone that should live in Monrovia. If we want to survive as an independent state we should “go back to soil..”
Thanks to President for joining other major stakeholders to produce food for the people.
