The Liberia National Police (LNP) has formally charged noted Liberian economist and political commentator, Samuel P. Jackson, in connection with the death of his wife, Toni Jackson, a South African legal professional and entrepreneur.

Authorities confirmed that the charges against Jackson include manslaughter, negligent homicide, and reckless endangerment of another person’s life, marking a significant escalation in a case that has drawn widespread public attention.

Investigators say preliminary findings point to suspicious circumstances surrounding Mrs. Jackson’s death. According to police, the late Toni Jackson was discovered with a deep head laceration and visible bruises on her body, prompting a full-scale criminal investigation.

Jackson, who was earlier identified as a person of interest, has since been taken into custody. He has also turned over his travel documents to authorities as the case proceeds.

The LNP disclosed that its investigation has involved extensive forensic examinations and witness interviews. Based on the evidence gathered so far, police believe there are grounds linking Jackson to the incident.

Adding another dimension to the case, Rufus S. Berry II, described as a longtime associate of the आरोपी, has alleged that he previously witnessed incidents of domestic violence involving the couple. Berry claims he reported his concerns to the police prior to Mrs. Jackson’s death.

Meanwhile, Jackson’s legal team has begun mounting its defense. Prominent Liberian lawyer Cllr. Sayma Syrenius Cephus has confirmed his involvement in representing Jackson as the matter moves through the judicial process.

The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities indicating that additional details may emerge as the case develops.
