The Liberia National Police (LNP), in collaboration with the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), has announced the introduction of a new online system for processing Police Clearance services, set to take effect on May 1, 2026.
According to an official public notice issued on April 6, 2026, the initiative is aimed at improving efficiency and accessibility in obtaining police clearance and related services. The transition to a digital platform will also be accompanied by a revised fee structure for applicants.
Under the new system, applicants will be required to access services through the LNP’s official website, where they can select and process their clearance requests online.
The updated fees for services are categorized based on nationality and service type:
For Job Clearance, Liberian citizens will pay US$10 for regular service and US$20 for express processing. ECOWAS citizens will be charged US$50 (regular) and US$100 (express), while Non-ECOWAS citizens will pay US$150 for regular service and US$300 for express.
For Travel Clearance, Liberians will pay US$20 (regular) and US$40 (express). ECOWAS citizens will be charged US$50 and US$100 respectively, while Non-ECOWAS citizens will pay US$100 for regular service and US$200 for express processing.
For Name Checks, the fees for Liberians are set at US$10 (regular) and US$20 (express). ECOWAS citizens will pay US$50 and US$100, while Non-ECOWAS citizens will be charged US$100 for regular and US$200 for express services.
In cases of Missing Passports, Liberians will pay US$10 for regular service and US$20 for express. ECOWAS citizens will be charged US$40 (regular) and US$80 (express), while Non-ECOWAS citizens will pay US$100 and US$200 respectively.
Authorities noted that all payments will be made in United States Dollars or the Liberian Dollar equivalent.
The LNP emphasized that beginning May 1, all services will be accessible via its official website, and users are required to click on the “Police Clearance” section to initiate their applications.
The public is being urged to take note of these changes and ensure full compliance when seeking police clearance and related services under the new system.
