Greenville, Sinoe County — The Sinoe County Detachment of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has arrested a Nigerian national in connection with the possession of illegal drugs with an estimated street value exceeding L$354,500.
The suspect, identified as Ojukuwu Godwin, was apprehended in the early morning hours of April 4, 2026, at approximately 7:30 a.m. The arrest followed the execution of a search and seizure warrant obtained by the LDEA from the 3rd Judicial Circuit Court in Greenville.
According to the LDEA, officers discovered and confiscated quantities of suspected narcotics in the possession of the suspect, including 28.3 grams of Kush and 26 grams of cocaine.
Authorities estimate the street value of the seized substances at approximately US$1,866.00. A breakdown of the valuation places Kush at US$566.00 (L$107,500), while cocaine is valued at US$1,300.00 (L$247,000), bringing the total to US$1,866.00 or L$354,500.00.
The LDEA confirmed that the suspect is currently undergoing investigation. Upon completion of the investigation, he is expected to be formally charged and forwarded to court for prosecution in line with Liberia’s amended drug laws.
The agency reiterated its commitment to combating drug trafficking and abuse across the country, emphasizing ongoing efforts to clamp down on the distribution and possession of illegal substances.
