Residents of Sorlumba Town in Lofa County have received financial and humanitarian assistance from Lofa County Senator Joseph Jallah in recognition of the community’s role in helping safeguard Liberia’s border during recent tensions involving Guinean soldiers.
During a visit to the border town, Senator Jallah presented L$500,000 to residents as a gesture of appreciation for their vigilance and cooperation with authorities during the unfolding situation along the Liberia–Guinea frontier. The senator also donated assorted food items to families in Sorlumba, many of whom were affected by the heightened security concerns in the area.
In a separate show of support for those maintaining security in the region, Senator Jallah provided L$60,000 to security personnel currently deployed at the border. The contribution is intended to assist officers as they continue monitoring activities and maintaining stability along the frontier.
The Lofa County lawmaker commended residents of Sorlumba for what he described as patriotic conduct, noting that their readiness to stand with national security forces played a key role in protecting Liberia’s territorial integrity during the recent incident involving reported cross-border movements by Guinean soldiers.
Border communities across northern Lofa County have remained on alert in recent weeks following reports of incursions and rising tensions along the boundary separating Liberia and Guinea. The developments have drawn national attention and prompted increased vigilance among both residents and security authorities.
