Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has nominated Liberian music star Korte Dorbor Bazzie, popularly known as Kobazzie, as Entertainment Ambassador of Liberia, a move seen as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s cultural and creative industry.

The nomination was announced Friday in a statement issued by the Executive Mansion outlining a new round of appointments affecting several government institutions.

Kobazzie, one of Liberia’s most recognizable musical figures, has earned widespread popularity over the years through his music and influence within the entertainment community. His nomination to serve as Entertainment Ambassador signals the government’s intention to give greater recognition to the role of arts and culture in promoting Liberia both locally and internationally.

If confirmed, Kobazzie is expected to serve as a representative of Liberia’s entertainment sector, helping to promote Liberian music, culture, and creative talent while supporting initiatives aimed at expanding opportunities for artists across the country.

The President also made additional appointments within government, including the nomination of Mr. James K. Yolei as Assistant Minister for Operations at the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs. Yolei previously served as Assistant Minister at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

At the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority, Mrs. Madia Henrietta Peters Magbollah has been nominated as Deputy Director for Administration.

According to the Executive Mansion, the appointments that require legislative approval will be forwarded to the Liberian Senate for confirmation in line with the laws of the Republic.

President Boakai has urged the nominees to demonstrate diligence, professionalism, and integrity in carrying out their duties as they work in service to the Liberian people.
