The Inspector General of the Liberia National Police, Gregory Coleman, has identified Liberian economist and political commentator Samuel Jackson as a suspect in the ongoing investigation into the death of his wife, Toni Jackson.
Speaking on the matter, Coleman confirmed that Jackson will remain at the headquarters of the Liberia National Police in Monrovia while investigators continue examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Despite being named a suspect, the police chief clarified that formal charges have not yet been filed against Jackson. Authorities, however, say he remains central to the investigation as officers gather further evidence and assess the details of the case.
Coleman also disclosed that the coroner team has recommended that an autopsy be conducted on the remains of Toni Jackson to help determine the precise cause of her death.
The police say the investigation remains active, with additional steps expected to include forensic examinations and interviews with individuals who may have information relevant to the case.
Authorities have indicated that updates will be provided as investigators work to establish the full facts surrounding the death.
