BUCHANAN, Liberia — The Liberia National Police (LNP) has suspended Patrolman Alex T. Flampor of the Grand Bassa County Police Detachment for four months without pay after an internal investigation found he engaged in inappropriate conduct involving a minor.

According to the police authority, the disciplinary action follows allegations raised in February 2026 accusing the officer of tampering with a 13-year-old girl in Grand Bassa County. A subsequent medical examination conducted as part of the investigation determined that the minor did not experience sexual penetration.

Following the medical findings, the case was referred to the Professional Standards Division of the Liberia National Police to determine the circumstances and intent surrounding the alleged incident.

Based on the outcome of the administrative inquiry, the LNP announced that Patrolman Flampor will serve a four-month suspension without pay. During the suspension period, he has also been ordered to pay LRD 12,000 to the victim’s father as restitution to cover medical expenses incurred during the examination process.

Police authorities further disclosed that the officer will be transferred out of Grand Bassa County after completing the disciplinary suspension.

The LNP stated that the officer’s actions violated its Administrative Instructions on Discipline and Professional Standards, particularly provisions related to abuse of authority under Category of Offenses 6.5(e) and Standard Section 5.1(p).

Reaffirming its stance on professional conduct, the Liberia National Police cautioned officers nationwide to remain mindful of actions that could undermine the credibility and integrity of the force. The institution emphasized that any breach of its Administrative Instructions or the Police Duty Manual will attract firm disciplinary measures.
