Monrovia, Liberia – Newly appointed Entertainment Ambassador Korte Dorbor Bazzie, widely known as Kobazzie, has outlined a vision centered on unity, advocacy, and growth for Liberia’s creative industry following his nomination by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.
In a public statement released days after the announcement, Kobazzie described the appointment as both a personal honor and a defining moment for Liberia’s entertainment and broader creative economy. He emphasized that the establishment of an office dedicated to the sector within the Ministry of State marks a historic shift in how the government engages with creatives.
According to him, the initiative signals a new level of recognition for artists and cultural practitioners, positioning the creative industry as a meaningful contributor to national development. He noted that the office is expected to serve as a link between government and the creative community, ensuring that the concerns, ideas, and contributions of stakeholders are represented and supported.
Kobazzie extended appreciation to President Boakai for what he termed a bold step toward acknowledging the value of the arts.
