Nimba County — The Nimba County Police Detachment has formally forwarded a 61-year-old woman, identified as Mary Giah, to court in connection with the deaths of three minors in Menlah Town, District #9.
The tragic incident, which occurred on February 22, 2026, involved the deaths of three young children who were later identified as the suspect’s grandchildren. Following preliminary investigations, police say Mary Giah confessed to causing the deaths.
According to police findings, the suspect told investigators that her actions were influenced by what she described as spiritual possession. Authorities, however, emphasized that the matter is being treated as a criminal case and will be addressed strictly within the confines of the law.
The case has now been turned over to the court for judicial proceedings, marking the next phase in the pursuit of justice for the victims.

In a statement, the Liberia National Police extended its condolences to the bereaved family and the residents of Menlah Town, describing the incident as deeply disturbing and heartbreaking. The police further assured the public of their commitment to ensuring accountability and due process.
Community members in Menlah Town remain in mourning as the case proceeds, with many calling for justice for the three minors whose lives were tragically cut short.
