BUCHANAN, Liberia — The Liberia National Police (LNP) has released new information in the ongoing investigation involving Officer Alex Flampor, revealing that a medical assessment found no evidence of sexual penetration.
The update was provided Wednesday by Fasu Sheriff, Assistant Commissioner of Police and Commander of the Bassa Detachment, during a briefing at police headquarters in Buchanan.
According to ACP Sheriff, the medical report, issued by the Liberian Government Hospital, did not indicate penetration or physical signs consistent with rape. He clarified, however, that the medical findings alone do not bring the investigation to a close.
Sheriff explained that police are continuing to examine the broader circumstances surrounding the complaint, including how and why the 13-year-old girl allegedly ended up at a local motel in the Biafra Community, where she was reportedly found intoxicated. Investigators are focusing on issues of conduct, judgment, and possible abuse of authority.
As part of the ongoing process, Officer Flampor has been referred to the Professional Standards Division for a comprehensive administrative review. ACP Sheriff said this internal probe will assess whether the officer violated professional or ethical standards, regardless of the medical outcome.
He assured the public that the LNP remains committed to transparency and accountability, stressing that any officer found culpable of misconduct, especially in cases involving minors, will face appropriate disciplinary measures.
Police authorities say the findings of the administrative investigation will be made public in the coming days as scrutiny over the case continues.
