The Student Disciplinary Committee of the University of Liberia has strongly condemned recent acts of vandalism at the institution’s Capitol Hill campus, warning that students found responsible will face disciplinary action in accordance with university regulations.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the committee said it was deeply concerned by videos and photographs circulating on social media that show students defacing and damaging university property. The incidents reportedly occurred at multiple locations across the Capitol Hill campus, including the Graduate School and other academic facilities.
According to the committee, the images depict students deliberately splashing and smearing paint on walls and causing damage to buildings. The committee described the actions as intentional destruction of institutional property and a clear violation of the University of Liberia Student Handbook.
The Student Disciplinary Committee emphasized that all individuals involved in the incidents will be thoroughly investigated. It warned that students found to have breached university rules will be held fully accountable and subjected to appropriate disciplinary measures.
The committee further called on the student body to conduct themselves with integrity, maturity, and respect for university property. It urged students to uphold the values of the institution and to act as positive ambassadors of the University of Liberia, both on and off campus.
