Hipco and Trapco star Karwoudou Cole, widely known as Bucky Raw, has publicly addressed the LDEA raid on his Paynesville residence, firmly denying any involvement in drug activity and condemning what he described as “false stories” circulating on social media.
The artist was released hours after Friday’s early-morning operation, which was captured on Facebook Live as officers from the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency entered his home during a livestream. The footage triggered widespread speculation, with some viewers claiming the musician was linked to drug sales, allegations Bucky Raw now says were deliberately crafted to damage his reputation.
In a statement posted to his official Facebook page on Saturday, the rapper said the accusations were “false, intentionally misleading, and pushed by individuals trying to undermine me and my event.”
According to Bucky Raw, the timing of the raid was no coincidence. He suggested that certain industry figures have long targeted his name and brand, especially whenever he is preparing for a major performance.
“For years, certain people have gone out of their way to tear me down, distract my supporters, or create noise around any major move I make. Yesterday was no different, especially with my show scheduled for today,” he wrote.
The artist emphasized that despite Liberia’s ongoing struggle with drugs and substance abuse, a crisis he has publicly campaigned against, some individuals continue to judge him based on past mistakes rather than his current work.
Quoting a songwriter, he added: “Ever since I changed my life, it’s the old character they judging by.”
Bucky Raw insisted he is not involved in any illegal drug activity, describing the allegations as the product of “bad intentions and personal agendas.” He urged the media to avoid amplifying unverified claims and encouraged the public to take his statement as the true account of the situation.
“My supporters know my character. They know my journey. They know my truth,” he wrote.
He ended his statement by thanking fans for their support and confirming that his scheduled show will proceed as planned:
“We not stopping nothing.”
The LDEA has not yet issued a new comment in response to Bucky Raw’s statement or his earlier claim that officers took L$60,000 during the raid. The agency previously said the case remains under review.
