Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. on Tuesday held a landmark bilateral meeting with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, focusing on strengthening relations and expanding cooperation between Liberia and the UAE.
The talks, held at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, centered on deepening collaboration in priority sectors such as renewable energy, healthcare, education, tourism, agriculture, and infrastructure development. Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to building partnerships that foster sustainable growth and mutual prosperity.
President Boakai lauded the UAE for its remarkable achievements in innovation and sustainable development, emphasizing Liberia’s readiness to engage in transformative partnerships that align with the UAE’s forward-looking vision of economic diversification and inclusive progress.
In response, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed his enthusiasm for expanding relations with Liberia and other African nations. He underscored the UAE’s dedication to partnerships grounded in shared values, cooperation, and mutual respect.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments, reiterating their collective commitment to promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development across Africa and the wider global community.
President Boakai was accompanied by key members of his delegation, including Finance and Development Planning Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, Minister of State Without Portfolio Hadja Mamaka Bility, Cabinet Director General Nathanial Kwabo, Liberia’s Ambassador to the UAE Imam Mohammed Dukuly, and Presidential Envoy on Trade Hon. Daniel N. Kolubah.
In attendance on the UAE side were H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; along with several ministers and senior officials.
This high-level engagement marks another step in President Boakai’s diplomatic efforts to fortify Liberia’s international partnerships and attract strategic investments in line with his administration’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
