Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County – A bizarre scene unfolded at Gate One checkpoint in Zwedru after a man disguised as a woman was apprehended while attempting to travel from Maryland County to Monrovia.
According to reports, the individual, dressed in traditional female attire resembling that of a Fula woman, was initially believed to be a woman until he refused to undergo inspection by officers at the checkpoint. His resistance drew suspicion from security personnel on duty.
Authorities then called in a female officer of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) to conduct a search. The inspection revealed that the traveler was, in fact, a man hiding under female garments.
The motive behind his disguise and his refusal to be inspected remain unclear. Security officials have launched an investigation to determine whether his actions were linked to any criminal intent or other undisclosed reasons.
The incident has since sparked curiosity and speculation among residents of Zwedru, many of whom described the act as strange and alarming.
