The Liberia National Police (LNP) has officially sent its first contingent of 30 officers to Kigali, Rwanda, as part of a bilateral training program.

The initiative follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2024 between LNP Inspector General Gregory O. W. Coleman and his Rwandan counterpart, Inspector General Felix Namuhoranye.

According to the LNP, the officers will undergo intensive training at the Rwanda National Police Academy. The program is designed to enhance professional standards, improve operational capacity, and build a stronger security institution.

The police leadership emphasized that this effort is part of a broader commitment to institutional development through international partnerships, skills transfer, and knowledge exchange.
