The arrest of Hipco artist Barsee Mocopala Kiloda has become the talk of the town after an incident involving Mr. Philip Paye, CEO of Philipmenia Guest House, reportedly escalated into insults and a police case.
According to Mr. Paye’s account on Ableejay TV, the altercation began on Sunday when he was returning home from church and decided to stop by his guest house. He explained that as he walked in the direction where Barsee was standing, the artist began shouting at him, saying, “Big Dwag, what’s your name? Oh, you’re bluffing because you’re wearing black and white with glasses.”
Mr. Paye said he turned to ask who Barsee was speaking to, and the musician responded, “You — who else can’t I speak to?” The situation quickly escalated as witnesses reportedly tried to intervene and calm Barsee down, but he allegedly continued hurling insults — including offensive remarks about Mr. Paye’s mother — something Mr. Paye described as deeply disrespectful.
Feeling disrespected, Mr. Paye said he called the police, leading to Barsee’s arrest and detention at the Fairgrounds Police Station in Buchanan.
In his words, “I only wanted him to spend 48 hours in jail so he can learn some respect. I don’t know him personally; it was my first time seeing him, and I was shocked by his behavior.”
Since the incident, several entertainers and community members have reportedly reached out to Mr. Paye, appealing for Barsee’s release.
The cause of the artist’s alleged outburst remains unclear, with many fans now questioning what could have triggered his behavior toward a man he had never met before.
