As Liberians celebrate the recent announcement of reduced rice and flour prices, INSIGHTS LIBERIA MEDIA GROUP has revealed documents pointing to a significant donation of Chinese rice to Liberia. The aid, reportedly over 30 containers or 14,400 bags of rice, was shipped from China on August 1, 2025, and delivered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through Deputy Foreign Minister Ibrahim Abakari Nyei.
The disclosure has sparked questions among the public about whether the government’s recent price reduction is connected to the Chinese donation. Citizens are now asking: “Where is the Chinese rice, Mr. President?”
INSIGHTS LIBERIA MEDIA GROUP is calling on President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr and his administration to provide clarity on the status and distribution of the donated rice, ensuring transparency for the Liberian people.
The revelation comes at a time when food prices remain a pressing concern for many Liberians, making accountability and clear communication from the government critical.
