Nathan E. Gibson Memorial High School has firmly refuted claims that a teacher employed by the institution was involved in the tragic death of a 17-year-old female student.
The school, located at the Duport Road Junction, clarified that Stephen Johnson, the individual named in media reports and public allegations, is not an employee of the school, but rather a computer technician working with a private IT firm contracted to provide services to the institution.
“Stephen Jackson is not employed by our school. He is not on our payroll,” said Momo Kamara, the school’s supervisor, during a brief statement issued to the press. “While he has had access to the school through a third-party contract, he is not a part of our teaching staff.”

The clarification follows a wave of public outcry and speculation after the mother of the deceased student reportedly discovered disturbing messages on her daughter’s phone. The messages allegedly show Jackson instructing the girl to ingest substances aimed at terminating a pregnancy. The 17-year-old later died from organ failure.
While the school expressed deep sorrow over the student’s death, it emphasized that the accused individual had no direct affiliation with the institution’s administration or payroll.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased and our grieving student body,” the school stated. “This is a heartbreaking situation for the entire community.”
Authorities have yet to announce any formal charges as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death continue. Meanwhile, public calls for justice have intensified, with community members demanding full accountability for those involved.
