Liberian music sensation Barsee, has officially terminated his 1 million Liberian dollar contract with Dayee Records, just days after publicly accusing the label of financial exploitation.
The fallout comes in the wake of Barsee’s Lorpu Tatay concert, which reportedly generated LRD 300,000. According to Barsee, he was only given LRD 15,000, equivalent to 5% of the total revenue. The artist labeled the payout as unjust and exploitative, sparking widespread attention and criticism on social media.

In a statement released on May 6, Barsee’s management confirmed the termination, citing “months of unresolved concerns” and “Dayee Records’ failure to fulfill key contractual obligations,” including proper career management, production support, and active engagement in his artistic development.
“All rights to Barsee’s name, image, likeness, and artistic works have been withdrawn from Dayee Records,” the statement said, adding that the team is now seeking new partnerships aligned with the artist’s vision and goals.
Barsee also thanked his fans and supporters for standing by him during the transition and hinted at exciting new chapters in his career.
Communications sent to Dayee Records prior to the termination were also made public, indicating attempts to resolve the matter amicably before taking legal and professional steps to disengage.
As of now, Dayee Records has not issued any formal response to the allegations or the contract termination.
