In a candid and emotional statement, Liberian music influencer and mentor JZyno (Global Boy) has finally addressed the controversy surrounding SIO’s terminated $25 million deal with LIB Muzik, revealing why he never publicly congratulated the artist and shedding light on the breakdown of the agreement.
The deal, initially celebrated as a major milestone for SIO’s career, ended abruptly, leaving fans puzzled. Now, JZyno, who played a key role in connecting SIO with the label, has opened up about the behind-the-scenes issues that led to the fallout.
In a heartfelt post, JZyno expressed his frustration over the collapsed deal, admitting that he deliberately withheld congratulations because he sensed trouble early on.
“It is frustrating and disappointing to watch all our efforts end in termination,” he wrote. “We put a lot on hold and had sleepless nights trying to ensure things went well, but ultimately, we got it all wrong.”
He explained that while the signing ceremony took place, he remained cautious because he hadn’t received confirmation that both parties, especially SIO, were fully satisfied with the terms.
“I couldn’t congratulate them without seeing or hearing from their camp on how it goes, if both parties are satisfied, mostly the artiste because he’s my interest,” JZyno revealed. “When I found out he and his team were not happy, I got disturbed.”
JZyno disclosed that he had personally connected SIO and LIB Muzik’s Al Johnson, trusting both the artist’s talent and the label’s leadership. However, he acknowledged that despite good intentions, the business side of the deal became complicated.

“SIO has been around for years as an artiste, and he knows what’s good for him. Al Johnson has worked with great talents for years; he knows what he wants too,” he said. “I saw loyalty, love, respect, and trust between both sides, but business is business.”
He also pointed out a critical misstep: holding a signing ceremony before finalizing legal documents. “While I may not know everything about the music business, I believe having a signing ceremony before signing an artist through legal documents is a wrong move. And that is exactly what happened.”
This premature celebration, he suggested, set the stage for complications when negotiations stalled.
Despite the disappointment, JZyno believes the separation was necessary. “If things don’t go as expected in such cases, the final result turns out messy for both the label and the artiste,” he admitted. “Avoiding future problems, it was fair that they parted ways since they couldn’t compromise each other’s interests.”
Closing his statement on a positive note, JZyno urged fans to keep supporting both SIO and LIB Muzik.
“SIO is a great talent—let’s support him. LIB Muzik is a great label—let’s respect and support their artistes.”
What’s Next for SIO?
With the deal officially dead, the focus now shifts to SIO’s next move. Fans are hopeful that the artist—whose hit Blessings proved his star power—will bounce back stronger. Meanwhile, industry observers are taking notes on the lessons from this high-profile fallout: celebrate only after the ink dries.
