President Joseph Boakai is making waves once more! This time, his administration has taken a bold step by suspending the head of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NAFAA), Madam Emma Glassco, over allegations of financial and administrative mismanagement.
Effective immediately, President Boakai’s decision comes after a recommendation from the NAFAA Board of Directors. They flagged concerns about how the agency was being run, particularly in handling finances and managerial duties. To ensure transparency and accountability, the Ministry of Justice and the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) will now conduct a full investigation into the matter.
But that’s not all! The President’s letter to Madam Glassco didn’t just cite financial issues. It also referenced a complaint from the Office of the Ombudsman, accusing her of inappropriate conduct. Reports suggest that during an official meeting, she allegedly displayed insulting behavior—something the Code of Conduct Act strictly frowns upon.

Now, with her suspension in place, all eyes are on the upcoming investigation. Will the findings confirm the allegations, or will Madam Glassco clear her name? One thing is certain—President Boakai’s administration isn’t backing down when it comes to tackling inefficiency and misconduct in government offices.
