Liberia is once again rocked by a high-profile marital scandal, as Margibi County District #3 Representative Ellen Amarkai Attoh Wreh accuses her husband, Prince Anything Wreh, of bigamy, marrying another woman while still legally wedded to her.
This revelation comes at a time when both former and current lawmakers are facing increasing scrutiny over allegations of unpaid child support and other family-related controversies. With emotions running high, all eyes are now on the Monrovia City Court, where the couple is expected to appear today, February 20, 2025, for a legal conference.
What Is Bigamy?
For those unfamiliar with the term, bigamy is when a person marries someone else while still legally bound to their existing spouse. This is different from polygamy, where multiple marriages are openly acknowledged. In Liberia, bigamy is considered a criminal offense and can lead to serious legal consequences.
The Legal Battle Unfolds
According to judicial sources, this will be the second time Representative Wreh and her husband have been summoned to court over this matter. Inside sources suggest that after today’s conference, Representative Wreh plans to officially file for divorce, bringing an end to what was once a long-standing union.
However, the court’s objective is to facilitate an amicable resolution between both parties. It remains unclear if Mr. Wreh will fully cooperate, but his presence is expected.

The Bigger Picture
This case not only highlights the personal struggles of a public figure but also adds to the ongoing discourse on family and marital obligations among Liberia’s political elites. With mounting public interest, the outcome of this legal battle could set a significant precedent.
Will Representative Wreh’s accusations hold up in court? Will her husband face legal consequences? And most importantly, will this case shine a brighter light on issues of accountability among Liberia’s leaders?
Stay tuned for further updates as this developing story unfolds.
