Deputy Presidential Affairs Minister for Administration, Cornelia Kruah Togba, has finally addressed the incident involving Obediah, making it clear that she will not be pressured into recommending him for a government appointment.
In a social media post, the Deputy Minister explained that Obediah is not unemployed, contrary to speculations. His demand, she clarified, is not for just any job but specifically a presidential appointment, a prestigious and politically influenced position.
Obediah, in his frustration, has reportedly confronted Kruah Togba multiple times, even attempting to assault her on different occasions. The most recent incident, she revealed, took place at the President’s Annual Message Reception, where he again pressured her to push his name forward for an appointment. Despite these repeated encounters, the Deputy Minister stated that she has chosen to ignore the attacks rather than escalate the situation.

However, this time, she decided to speak out, perhaps to put an end to the narrative that she is being unfair to Obediah. She acknowledged the concern and empathy from those reaching out to her but made it clear that she will not be blackmailed or threatened into recommending anyone for a government position.
Her response raises broader questions about the pressures that public officials face when it comes to appointments. Should government jobs be awarded based on merit or persistence? Should officials be forced into submission by constant demands? Kruah Togba’s statement suggests she believes in standing her ground, even when faced with intimidation.
As this situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Obediah will respond, but one thing is certain, Minister Kruah Togba is not backing down.
