The Paynesville City Magisterial Court has issued a summons for Eugene L. Fahngon, the Director General of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) and former Deputy Minister for Public Affairs at the Ministry of Information. The summons, dated February 17, 2025, follows a child support complaint filed against him by Madam Fatmata Mansaray.

According to the court document, Mr. Fahngon is expected to appear before Stipendiary Magistrate Cllr. William G. Saygah on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. The case stems from allegations that he stopped providing financial support for his son, Eugene Larmie Fahngon Jr., since 2023. Madam Mansaray claims that the lack of support has left her struggling to meet the child’s needs, describing him as a “family liability” due to the financial strain.

Beyond the child support issue, the complaint also raises concerns about alleged threats from Mr. Fahngon. Madam Mansaray states that he warned her against taking legal action, reportedly threatening a legal counterattack if she proceeded.
The court has ordered an initial settlement conference in an effort to resolve the matter amicably before moving to formal litigation. Whether this conference will lead to a resolution or escalate into a legal battle remains to be seen.
