The corridors of power are no longer shielding Madam Finda Bundo, former Chief of Protocol for ex-President George Weah, as she now finds herself entangled in a debt scandal that has landed her before the Montserrado County Debt Court.
Bundo has been officially summoned over an alleged outstanding debt of USD $14,000, a matter stemming from campaign materials supplied during the 2023 elections. The complainant, Jerome F. Walkely, asserts that he printed CDC Victory balloon sticks and other campaign paraphernalia totaling USD $38,000, which were shipped to Madam Bundo under an agreement.
According to Walkely, he fulfilled his end of the bargain by delivering 213 cartons of balloon sticks, transported in coordination with the Ministry of State. However, the financial aspect of the deal reportedly took a different turn. Walkely claims that he initially received two payments of USD $10,000 each through Bundo’s agents, Mr. Toe Wesseh and Mr. James Emmanuel Potter, leaving a balance of USD $18,000 unpaid.

Frustrated by the delay in receiving his full payment, Walkely sought legal assistance, which ultimately pressured Bundo into making an additional payment of USD $4,000. Despite this, a sum of USD $14,000 remains unsettled, prompting Walkely to escalate the matter to the legal system.
With the court now stepping in, the former presidential chief of protocol will have to answer to these claims and provide clarity on why the outstanding balance remains unpaid. The case raises serious questions about financial accountability within high-profile political circles and the extent to which campaign debts are handled post-election.
As the legal battle unfolds, all eyes will be on the Debt Court of Montserrado County to determine whether Madam Bundo will honor her obligations or contest the allegations. Will this be another case of political immunity running out, or will justice take its course? The coming days will tell.
