The stage is set for a critical conversation about Liberia’s financial future as the Majority bloc in the House of Representatives begins deliberations on the 2025 Draft National Budget.
Representative Samuel Kogar, Chair of the Majority bloc, confirmed the receipt of the budget from the Executive branch during an interview on the OK Morning Rush earlier today. “We have the budget, and we will be debating it. It will be submitted to the committee room today,” he announced.
This marks the official start of the legislative review process, where lawmakers will meticulously analyze the proposed fiscal plan to ensure it reflects the nation’s priorities and addresses pressing challenges.
The 2025 Draft Budget is expected to cover crucial areas such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and national security. It’s also an opportunity for the legislature to identify gaps and push for inclusivity, accountability, and efficiency in resource allocation.
As debates begin, all eyes are on the House of Representatives to provide a balanced approach that prioritizes the needs of the people while promoting economic stability and growth. Liberians eagerly await the outcomes, hoping for a budget that sets the country on a path to sustainable development.
