Renowned Liberian pathologist, Dr. Benedict Kolee, who received his training through the United Nations, has addressed allegations made in a September 5, 2024, publication by the Daily Observer.
The article suggested that Dr. Kolee, alongside a Nigerian pathologist brought in by the defense, failed to detect any male DNA at the residence of Cllr. Gloria Musu Scott, where the tragic murder of Charloe Musu took place.
Titled “Pathologist Kolee Misled Judge, Jury, Supreme Court Says in Charloe Musu Murder Case,” the article quoted Chief Justice Sie-A-Nyene Gyapay Youh, who reportedly accused Dr. Kolee of providing misleading testimony. His statement, which indicated that all DNA samples from the crime scene and the victim were female, allegedly influenced the court to reach a not-guilty verdict for former Chief Justice Scott and her three family members.
Dr. Kolee has since responded to the claims, defending his professional integrity and the accuracy of his findings in the high-profile case.
