New Electronic Energy Vehicles (NEEV)-Liberia, led by CEO Hon. Cassell Anthony Kuoh Sr., has put forward a remarkable offer of US$500,000 to sponsor Liberia’s national football league. This proposal is more than double the US$200,000 currently being provided annually by Orange-Liberia, marking a pivotal moment for the future of Liberian football.
During an exclusive interview with Hon. Cassell Kuoh, he shared his vision for elevating the national league:
“My company is ready to improve our league with this sponsorship to help develop it and bring it on par with other African countries. Liberia remains the least developed in football in West Africa, but with this huge sponsorship, our football is going to move forward.”
The generous offer comes at a time when LFA President Mustapha Raji has openly expressed the need for a more robust sponsorship deal. Stakeholders have been vocal about the inadequacy of the current Orange-Liberia sponsorship. With NEEV-Liberia poised to take over, the impact would be felt immediately, as each of the 42 teams in the league is expected to receive US$11,900—drastically higher than the current US$3,000 provided under the Orange-Liberia deal.
This new partnership, once finalized, promises to significantly boost the league’s infrastructure, player development, and overall competitiveness on the continent. NEEV-Liberia’s investment could be the turning point in reviving the nation’s football and aligning it with the broader West African football scene.
