The Liberty Party, has officially accepted the resignation of its Chairman, Musa Bility, marking a pivotal moment in the party’s internal reconciliation process. The announcement, made by the National Executive Committee, signals a fresh chapter in the party’s efforts to resolve longstanding differences and restore unity.

Chairman Bility’s decision to step down comes amid efforts spearheaded by a joint committee established to address the party’s internal divisions.

The announcement was made by the party’s National Executive Committee, now led by Acting Chairperson Representative Rugie Barry. The Committee acknowledged Bility’s decision to step down in a statement released in Monrovia last Friday.

According to the release, the party had previously formed a joint committee to initiate a reconciliation process aimed at addressing divisions within its ranks. Bility’s resignation, which took place during this process, marks a pivotal moment for the party’s future direction.

The statement read: “A few weeks ago, a joint committee was constituted to embark on a reconciliation process to reconcile our differences and restore our Party to oneness. During this process of reconciliation, Chairman Musa Bility made the decision to resign from his position as Chairman and as a member of the Party.”

Acting Chair Rugie Barry and the Executive Committee have expressed gratitude to Musa Bility for his service during his tenure. They emphasized that the reconciliation process is nearing completion, with partisans being informed in the coming days about the next steps.

As Acting Chair, Rugie Barry will continue to work closely with the joint committee, ensuring the reconciliation process is successfully concluded in coordination with Liberty Party’s Political Leader, Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence.

Senator Karnga-Lawrence, in her statement, extended her appreciation to the joint committee for their hard work, expressing optimism about the party’s future as the reconciliation efforts advance.

This leadership transition comes at a crucial time for Liberty Party, as its partisans and supporters hope for a unified and stronger political force moving forward.
