The Civil Service Agency (CSA) has recommended the dismissal of 78 employees from the Ministry of Information for prolonged absenteeism. According to the CSA’s findings, these employees have been absent from work for over 50 consecutive days without any valid reason.
Additionally, the CSA has suggested that more than 50 other employees be issued formal warnings, as they have also been missing from work for about 30 days. This report highlights the need for greater accountability and discipline within the Ministry’s workforce.
In response, Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah acknowledged the findings and stressed that the Ministry would consult with the CSA to explore amicable solutions. While the Ministry is committed to addressing the issue of absenteeism, it also seeks a resolution that will ensure fairness to all involved.
The CSA’s recommendations are part of broader government efforts to improve public sector efficiency and hold employees accountable for their duties.
